Homemade Tanning Oil Spray

I am one of those people who finishes the Summer with odd tan lines of different shapes and shades. The truth is that I hate laying out and tanning, because I have better things that I’d rather do. Also, I’m pretty fair-skinned, causing the tanning process to start with getting an awful burn that may or may not result in pretty skin. So, I did some research, because while it is quite humorous the different lines that I end up with, I would like a little bit of consistency.

After doing a little bit of searching, I found that the simplest solution to pale skin, without the sun or a tanning bed, is white lotion and tea. It really is that easy. So, I will share with you what I have found to be the most useful for me. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 6 black tea bags
  • Unscented white lotion
  • Spray bottle

Directions

  1. First, you’ll want to brew some extremely strong tea. What I did was placed 6 black tea bags in a measuring cup, then poured boiling water up to the 1 cup line. Letting it steep for 5 minutes, I pulled the tea bags out, and I ended up with a very concentrated 3/4 cup of tea.
  2. Next, you pour a little of the tea into however much lotion you want, and you stir it together. Keep adding more tea until you get the shade you want for your lotion. The more you add, the tanner you’ll be. I used a bowl for the mixing, but I would recommend using a measuring cup with a pouring spout on it, because it would make the next step far easier.
  3. Lastly, simply pour the lotion into a spray bottle, and your done. As I said above, using a measuring cup would probably be best, but of course you can use a funnel either way.

And there you have it! Simple, quick, and easy tanning lotion that you just spray on and rub in. I hope you enjoy using this lotion as much as I do!
